It's in the Bag

I just took my last final and I feel pretty good about it so I think this semester is in the bag! Looks like graduating on Friday is officially going to happen. I still have a six page paper to write tonight and turn in tomorrow but I can handle that. Can’t believe this is actually going to happen. They even gave me a license plate frame with ‘alumni’ written on it. Woo!!

Andy snapped this picture the other day. Henry really likes my ergonomic pillow. It just fits his body so snug! I always come in the bedroom and find him snoozing on it. Well, some time in the middle of the night the other day, he decided that he wanted it. So he wriggled his way up there. Then all morning long he kept pushing my head with his feet trying to get me to give up the pillow entirely. I persevered but in the end I had relented over half of my pillow space to that furry little pillow snatcher. He knows he’s too cute to get in trouble.

P.S.= WordPress informs me that this is my 600th blog post!! Woah!!

Our weekend

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

On Friday night Andy and I left for his work Christmas party which was held up at Snowbird Resort. They really out did themselves with the massive ice sculpture! We had dinner which included prime rib, salmon, pasta bar, sushi bar, and a chocolate fountain. The entertainment was a rowdy game of Minute to Win It. After dinner we came back and relaxed in our room.

The next morning we had breakfast at a little place we found called Lazy Day Cafe. It was so yummy!! Lemon pancakes and seasoned hashbrowns. After breakfast we hopped on over to the mall to check out the new H & M store and the new Crate & Barrel. We didn’t buy anything but we had fun walking around the mall.

We spent the rest of the morning driving around looking at the devastation from the wind storms. In Centerville and Farmington trees were down everywhere and on every street people were out with chainsaws trying to clean up the mess. The city had a huge chipper coming around to pick up the branches left on the side of the road. I don’t think we saw a single house that didn’t have a missing fence, missing siding, or missing shingles.

When we got home Andy made chocolate covered pretzels, we both worked on homework and watched A Knight’s Tale. Later on I tried my hand at making french onion soup with some onions from Andy’s parents garden that we still had left. It turned out pretty yummy.

Now, finals until Wednesday and then I’m free!!

a late Thanksgiving recap

So I’ve made an executive decision. I’m bagging the rest of the November posts and instead I’m posting some pictures of our Thanksgiving Day. Even though we were sick much of this weekend we did manage to get up some Christmas decorations as well!

Thanksgiving morning we took Ash and my sister’s dog, Varitek out for a walk.

My sister made candied apples for everyone and made the table look so festive!

We spent the rest of the afternoon letting Nellie entertain us. Who needs TV when you’ve got her?!

She loves to wear Grandma’s reading glasses

Overall a fantastic Thanksgiving! We were exhausted when we got home.

But we still made time to put up the tree!

30 Days Hath November: Day 23

Day 23: Eight things you didn’t know about me

1. I don’t care for chocolate. I’ll eat it but it’s not my favorite.
2. I prefer having a few very close friends to having a ton of acquaintances.
3. My husband and I met online and later found out we went to the same high school and even knew some of the same people.
4. I’m scared to drive in the dark because other people’s headlights throw my depth perception off.
5. I prefer my pancakes to be covered in butter and sugar, not syrup.
6. Almost every day I wish that I was expecting a baby/had a baby.
7. I didn’t eat red M&M’s until after I married Andy and he convinced me that they weren’t poison.
8. I don’t like watching pair’s ice skating because I’m deathly afraid that someone’s going to get their ear sliced off by a skate, yet I’d like to put my little boy (if I had one) in hockey because I think it’s super cute.

What’s something I don’t know about you?

The pumpkin and banana cream pies will get some finishing touches just before we serve them. The triple berry pie is filled with strawberries, blackberries and raspberries and we’ll be serving it al a mode. Yum! I’ve got one more pumpkin pie that still needs to go in the oven but then I think we’ll be set. I wanted to make a chocolate cream and possible try my hand at a pecan pie but it just would have been too much food for us! Maybe next year.

I love Thanksgiving and I’m so excited to get my sister’s house and see everyone.

First though, I wanted to say a big thank you to all of you! You bloggers know what I mean. This community means so much to me and so I want you to know how thankful I am for all the friendships I’ve made out there. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Last year we spent Thanksgiving with Andy’s family, so this year we are traveling to Wyoming to be with my family at my sisters new house. I am so excited because this means that I get to help a little bit with the cooking. I’m also bringing the pies! Yay! It should be a great time.

I have so so much to be thankful for this year. Thinking about it almost overwhelms me. 2011 surely has been one of my best years. So many good things have happened and I feel that I could never be happier or feel more fulfilled.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends, family, and yummy food. I’d love to hear what you’re thankful for this year!!

Day 21: Something I Could Never Tire Of

This guy:

Cheesy, I know. But it’s the truth. I could say pumpkin lattes or my books or shopping or whatever, but in the end, he’s everything. Even on days when I need my space, I love that he’s never far.
